Would you like to perform in York Opera’s next show?

In 2026 York Opera celebrate their 60th anniversary, and what better way to mark the occasion than with a much-loved party opera: ‘Die Fledermaus, or The Bat’s Revenge’ by Johann Straus II, to be performed at York Theatre Royal, 3rd-6th June. Our wonderful directorial partnership responsible for last year’s production of ‘Tales of Hoffmann’, John Soper and Liz Watson, are once more at the helm, together with our new musical director, Edward Venn.

Auditions are to be held on 19th and 20th November at Lidgett Grove Methodist Church, and rehearsals will start in January. Further information about the different roles can be viewed here. If you would like to audition for a principal role, complete our online form here.
