Would you like to perform in York Opera’s next show?

In 2026 York Opera are celebrating their 60th anniversary, concluding with a double bill of The First Nowell by Vaughan Williams and The Christmas Story by Schütz, to be performed at The Citadel, York, 9th-11th December. Alasdair Jamieson returns as our musical director, with Frances Marshall (The First Nowell) and Elizabeth Gardner (The Christmas Story) taking the helm as stage directors.

Auditions are to be held on 26th and 27th August at Lidgett Grove Methodist Church, and rehearsals will start in October. Further information about the different roles can be viewed here. If you would like to audition for a principal role, complete our online form here.
