Website and Social Roles

Hopefully by now you’ve noticed our beautiful website, you may also be following us on social media - but that’s not all…

We have an ambitious plan to drive new audiences, many of whom have never seen an opera before, to our box office. That takes time, and it takes skills.

If you’ve got any online skills and think you can help, please get in touch.

Please note that York Opera is a charitable organisation and these are volunteer roles.

Below are some examples of the types of roles we’re looking to fill…

We’ve an enormous adwords grant of $10k which we need a dedicated specialist to try and help us to use. You’ll be the one who is always looking for those new opportunities to help growth of traffic to our site, and ultimately to our box office.

You’ll have a destination, and will work with the rest of the online team to get there, but the journey is your own to make.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to build up PPC account management experience. So get in touch!

We like to think our site is pretty good, but it could be so much better.

Working with content creators, PPC, and social, you’ll use your creative skills to help increase searchability, and your technical skills to ensure that the site’s performance is tip-top to give us that edge. What are you waiting for? Contact us now!

Are you a writer? Do you design graphics? Perhaps you’re a wiz with animation tools or a camera?

You’ll be helping build content which not only helps our SEO efforts, but also helps with our profile - video explainers for opera plots, blogs to encourage new members to take part, maintaining our archive for posterity (and SEO!), or generally getting involved in our advertising effort, there is so much that you can offer and we’d like to hear from you!

Social is our window to engaging existing audiences, finding new fans, and ultimately driving them to the box office - we’re getting the hang of it, but we need you to take things to a whole new level.

Running polls and competitions, running campaigns, reaching out to influencers on Insta, or having a pow-wow with other major opera companies on Twitter - sound like your thing? Let us know!
